The Rocky Fork Lake Region is rich in Indian History and has several area attractions to enjoy!

 

Fort Hill is an historical site of the Hopewell Indian Mounds.  The Mounds are over 1,000 years old  with spectacular earthwork enclosure.  Picnic areas and over 11 miles of Hiking trails are only minutes away from Rocky Fork Lake State Park.

The Prehistoric Adena Indians built Serpent Mound, a 1,000 foot long snake effigy  located in the northeastern part of Adams County, Ohio.  Picnic areas, walking trails and a museum are only some of the features available at Serpent Mound.

Amish Country- General Store and Bakeries can be found within 20 minutes of  the lake.  Fresh Baked Goods, hand crafted furniture and quilts are great finds in this wonderful area.  When in season, fresh farm grown produce is also available from horse drawn wagons. Grab a fresh pretzel sandwich, and relax in a beautiful country setting.

 

Historic Bainbridge offers antique shops only minutes away with exceptional finds.  Small town charm and long family histories lend this area to fine antiques at reasonable prices.  If you enjoy antiques, you cannot miss this opportunity. Cheesecake lovers can visit Mystical Retreat, offering 35 different flavors of cheesecake, all homemade. Open Friday through Sunday. Enjoy!
